Our Cows

We have a herd of mainly Belted Galloway cows. This breed originated from Scotland and has the distinct characteristic of a white belt that encircles the body. Belted Galloways have a double hair coat; a coarse outer coat that helps shed the rain and snow, with a soft undercoat that provides insulation. Due to the thick hair coat, they are well adapted to winter weather without having to expend as much energy to stay warm. In this summer, the cows shed their thick hair coat adapting to the warmer temperatures. We chose this breed for their calving ease, maternal instincts, moderate sized frame and their ability to produce high-quality beef on grass alone.
